Sticks

Is a spear of bread dough with queso blanco (white cheese) in the middle.
It is form into a bread stick and then fried. It is Venezuelans most popular snack.
The name "Tequeño" come from the town of Los Teques, capital of the state if Miranda where is believed this food originated from.
The oldest know reference are from the first decade of the 19th century. At the time the wealthiest families of Caracas ( Venezuela's capital city) would spend their vacations in Los Teques and it's believed that they started preparing the Tequeños with the left over dough of "Pastelitos", another Venezuelan snack.
In other countries like Colombia "Tequeño" is known as "Dedito de queso" .
